Annual General Meeting 2011

Members are reminded that this year's AGM is on Tuesday 4th October 2011 at 8:00pm prompt at St. Helens Police Club, Windleshaw Road, Dentons Green, St. Helens.

All members are asked to attend the AGM. This is your opportunity to scrutinise the running of your club, vote for the Officers and Committee for 2012, and generally have your say. If you have any questions or comments to make about meets, the club hut, the club's finances, the Annual Dinner, or any other aspect of the operation of the club, this is the place to do it.

The Club Secretary and the Club Treasurer are both retiring from their posts this year. Nominations for their replacement are welcome from all club members. Depending upon how things work out there may also be some vacancies on the committee. If you think that you can contribute to the running of the club, please come along to the AGM and get involved.

As was discussed at the Extraordinary General Meeting, the club hut is being rebuilt this year and this will have important implications for the future of the club. The work on the hut will require a commitment from the club of possibly both members' time and money. The club's financial position remains a matter for concern. It is vital that members fully debate these issues so that the committee has a clear mandate from the members about how to proceed.

The Meets Calendar for 2012 will be agreed within the following few weeks, so if you have a meet you wish to be included on the calendar, please inform the Club Secretary or any Committee member as soon as possible. This includes suggestions for meet venues and members who may wish to volunteer to organise their own meets.

Whilst the attendance at the EGM was a vast improvement over recent previous AGM's, it should be noted that it was still slightly less than half of the current membership. The committee hope that the attendance at this year's AGM will be similar or even better. This is your best opportunity to make your views heard and contribute to the operation and governance of your club for the next year.
